After meeting with Senior Sergeant James Bradley and Administration Officer Melissa Twining, it didn’t take them long to see the benefits in providing work experience opportunities for our ex-service men and women.
Senior Sergeant James Bradley explains, “It was a no brainer! We are a busy Police Station so having an extra pair of highly skilled hands was a bonus for everyone involved.”
Having ascertained suitable tasks that would assist the busy administrative team and add value to work trial participants, the inaugural work trial successfully commenced.
“The Incite Solutions Employment Team, took the time to understand the type of role and work tasks we could offer so they could best match the ex-defence client to our needs. This, coupled with regular communication throughout the work trial was integral to the success of the program,” says Melissa.
It is great to have Cockburn Police Station so proactively support our ex-service men and women.
Melissa encourages other employers to consider the strategy. “The best part for us is how great it feels to play a positive part in an ex-service person’s journey back to civilian life- who wouldn’t welcome that in their workplace?”
